Projects
Abandoned entries are kept, with the reason why.
Starlink roof mount
Gen 2 Standard Actuated on the cab roof, on a Jackery until the power system is live.
Secondary power system
A 200 Ah LiFePO4 house bank on a REDARC Manager30, running Starlink and everything else off a pure sine inverter.
HF antenna mounting and grounding
A mount that survives Juneau, and a feedline route away from the DC runs.
Bed drawer and platform system
Drawers under a flat platform in the bed, anchored into steel rather than composite.
Rear bumper and recovery points
A steel rear bumper with rated recovery points bolted to the frame.
Suspension refresh
Springs and dampers matched to what the truck actually weighs once everything else on this list is on it.
Onboard air compressor
ARB or similar, mounted somewhere dry, wired off the house bank rather than the start battery.
Rock sliders
Weld-on or bolt-on sliders that tie into the frame and can take the truck's weight on a rock.
Roof rack
A rack over the cab, or the bed, or both, that does not shade the dish or leak.
Auxiliary lighting
Work lights, ditch lights, camp lighting, fused off the 12 V block and switched somewhere reachable.
Fridge and slide
A 12 V compressor fridge on a slide, which is the second largest continuous load after Starlink.
Start battery replacement
A known-good start battery, since the jump circuit parallels the house bank with it and the DC feed draws up to 50 A through it.
Skid plates
Engine, transmission and transfer case protection, plus whatever the fuel tank needs.
Maintenance log
Recurring service, by mileage and by date.
